About Bob Hatcher

Bob Hatcher’s passion for photography began at the age of 18. What started out as taking photos on a Pentax camera he borrowed from a friend, his passion for photography grew rapidly as he  fell in love with the fact that he could catch and freeze a moment in time.

Being the father of three children, now aged 22, 19, and 16, he has spent the past 22 years photographing life at it unfolded. Real people and real pictures captured in a unique style developed over many years of looking through the lens. More recently, Bob had the wonderful opportunity to travel extensively through India with nothing more than a bag and a camera strapped to his back.

Over the past couple of years, Bob has spent time being guided by some fantastic local photographers; Randy Smith, a genius at sports photography and action shots; Tammy Ovens, a portrait and children’s photography artist; and Patti Miller, a wedding photographer who shines at capturing the emotion of that special day with technical excellence.

Despite being a small business owner for over twenty years, Bob continued to play an active role in his community. He has done volunteer work with great organizations such as Child Fund and Kinsman of Canada, a group dedicated to community giving. Bob’s particular passion continues to lie within sponsoring and supporting the local arts community.

Through his music, Bob has been raising cancer awareness with the Canadian Cancer Association. He has also played in several musical groups, including; Sambucca Bob, Left of Sally, Eden Hill, and Burma Road. His most notable role, however, is the drummer in the philanthropic band Tatervox which helps charities to raise money for the past eleven years.
